Sustainability Initiatives
Each consolidated rental car facility (ConRAC) is unique and can be designed to incorporate the following environmental and sustainability elements. Each location mentioned has been delivered by CS Project Delivery and/or is operated by CS Operators. -
Water Reclamation and Air Quality Systems
Used at all CS-delivered and CS-operated sites, these practices conserve water and provide smart ventilation which reduces energy use and prolongs the life of HVAC systems. -
Solar Power
Constructed and operated by CS, the Newark Liberty International Airport ConRAC and public parking facility is powered by solar energy via the solar array on top of floor six. The Eugene Airport facility also utilizes solar power. -
LED-Efficient Lighting
The LED-efficient lighting retrofit at San Francisco International Airport decreased energy usage by approximately 66%. -
Composting Landscaping Debris
Implemented at San Diego International Airport, this practice turns a waste product into a usable resource, supporting sustainable land management, reducing landfill waste and improving soil health. -
Alternative Energy Storage
Energy storage offsets peak demand and reduces reliance on generators during emergency power outages. -
Electrical Vehicle Charging
ConRAC facilities may be equipped to support transition to EV fleets. The following CS-delivered and/or CS-managed sites have EV charging: Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Eugene Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, and Portland International Airport. -
Waste Management
CS’ patented system focuses on centralization, compaction and recycling which reduces operational costs and increases efficiency and safety. It is currently used at 12 CS-operated locations. -
